Forest Make SHOCK Move For Premier League-Bound Star – Deal Now Accelerating!
Nottingham Forest Ramp Up Pursuit of Feyenoord Talent Givairo Read with €21m Bid
Nottingham Forest have submitted a new official bid worth a €21 million package for highly-rated Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read, as the Premier League club intensifies efforts to bolster their defence ahead of the 2026/27 season under head coach Oliver Glasner.
The 20-year-old Netherlands Under-21 international has emerged as a prime target for the Tricky Trees, who view him as an ideal fit for strengthening the right flank. Reports indicate this latest proposal follows previous offers, including an initial bid around €17.5-18m and a subsequent €20m package that were turned down by Feyenoord. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing, with Forest reportedly willing to go up to €25m to secure the deal.
Crucially, Read has already given the green light to joining Nottingham Forest. The young defender is said to be fully open to the move to the City Ground, with personal terms not posing any obstacles. A five-year contract is reportedly on the table, which would significantly boost his earnings—potentially quadrupling his current salary at Feyenoord.
Read’s performances for Feyenoord, where he has contributed goals and assists from the full-back position despite a hamstring injury setback, have drawn interest from several top clubs, including Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Versatile enough to play as a wing-back, he aligns well with Glasner’s tactical preferences.
Feyenoord, however, are reluctant to lose one of their key prospects, who is contracted until 2029. The Dutch club are holding out for a higher fee, rumoured to be over €25-30m, and may offer him an improved deal to stay. Despite this, sources suggest momentum is building toward a potential resolution, with Forest confident of progress.
This signing would represent a smart investment in youth for Forest, adding dynamism and long-term value to their squad as they aim for European contention. Fans will be watching closely as talks continue in what could be one of the summer’s notable Premier League incoming transfers.
