Nottingham Forest Closing In on Sporting CP Star Ousmane Diomande
Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks and increasingly confident of securing a deal for Sporting CP central defender Ousmane Diomande, following the submission of a fresh official bid.
The Premier League outfit has tabled a proposal valued at around €40 million total package, including performance-related add-ons. While this offer sits well below the 22-year-old’s €80 million release clause, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing positively as Sporting appear open to striking a realistic compromise.
The Ivorian international has long been considered one of European football’s premier young defensive talents, earning widespread praise for his composure, physical dominance, and ball-playing abilities. Diomande is understood to be a high-priority target for head coach Oliver Glasner, who views the commanding centre-back as an ideal fit for his preferred three-man defensive system.
If finalized during Forest’s pre-season preparations in Portugal, the capture of Diomande would represent a major statement of intent for the City Ground club. Pairing the highly coveted defender alongside key figures like Murillo could provide Forest with one of the most formidable young defensive lines in English football.
