Teenage winger Antonio Cordero is set to spend another season on loan in Spain
Newcastle United youngster Antonio Cordero is set to re-join Cadiz on loan after a successful spell with the Spanish Segunda division side last season.
Reports in Spain suggested Cordero’s wish was to remain with his hometown club next season and a ‘swift agreement’ has been reached with the two clubs, despite interest from other Spanish sides.
Chronicle Live understands the move will be confirmed in an announcement later this week with Cordero set to spend another season in his homeland.
The Magpies winger made 21 appearances and scored three goals in his first spell with Cadiz and it is believed Newcastle are covering a significant portion of his wages.

The 19-year-old is set to join back up with the squad and meet the club’s new president Christian Septien ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Cordero joined Newcastle last July from Malaga, having scored six goals and registered seven assists in his first season in senior football.
Speaking about his move at the time, Cordero said: “It’s truly an honour to be here, truly a pleasure. I am a person who likes to aspire high. Why not come to one of the best places in the world to do it.
“It’s a big step, and that’s one of the reasons I’m here. I’m happy to do it and have a great desire to get going already.”
He was one of the very few signings made under former sporting director Paul Mitchell, who described Cordero as an ‘exciting talent’ with ‘a lot of potential’.
After just one month on Tyneside, Cordero was sent on loan to Belgian side Westerlo where he struggled to make an impact in the Jupiler League.
His return to Spain with Cadiz reinvigorated his career and the opportunity to work under Cadiz manager Imanol Idiakez, who made him a fundamental part of his plans last season, was a key driver behind his desire to return to the Andalusian club.
