West Ham United’s deal to sign PL striker deal will advance today
West Ham United’s bid to sign Leeds United striker Joel Piroe will advance today, according to ExWHUEmployee.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants another striker for the Championship season, with Niclas Fullkrug not in his plans.
The Hammers boss named teenage striking duo Josh Landers and Joshua Ajala on the bench for their opening league game of the new campaign yesterday.
Nuno is desperate to sign a new number nine before the end of the summer transfer window, and a move for Piroe is on the cards.
The 27-year-old wants to leave Leeds this summer as he is not part of Daniel Farke’s plans. The Whites wanted £16 million plus bonuses at the start of the transfer window for Piroe.
However, talks took place between Leeds and Piroe’s representatives last week regarding a reduction.
A loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent could be considered.
The Dutchman has Championship experience, bagging 32 goals in the division across two seasons before sealing promotion with Leeds.
He started just two Premier League games last season, coming off the bench 14 times as Farke preferred other forwards to him.
Piroe will hope a move to West Ham works out in the coming days, but he has other suitors keeping tabs on his situation.
The Hammers also have other striking options they are monitoring, including Jamie Vardy.
