Newcastle United are on the verge of starting a new era. Eddie Howe, surprisingly, decided to leave in the middle of pre-season. But it looks like the Englishman had stayed on for a few weeks, just to ensure that the Magpies were able to find his replacement.

That replacement is set to be German manager Matthias Jaissle. He is currently with Al-Ahli but a move seems like only a matter of time.
There is no doubt that Jaissle is a very talented coach. He has overdelivered with Al-Ahli, winning back-to-back AFC Champions League Elite titles. That being said, Newcastle United would need to provide him with the right squad for his time at St James’ Park to be a success.

Fortunately, it looks like they have their eyes on a Premier League player, who has been described as being ‘world-class’ in his role. But it might also hint at an impending exit.

According to a report from journalist Alan Nixon, Newcastle United are eyeing a move to sign Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson this summer.
While describing Robinson and what he brings to the table, Tom Hindle of GOAL wrote in the past:

He’s made old fashioned look exciting and traditional look modern. Suddenly, both Fulham and America have a world-class left back at their disposal.

Robinson has only grown as a player since then. And it is not surprising that a club like Newcastle United have taken notice. But what does that mean for the future of Lewis Hall?

Hall is one of the best players Newcastle United have remaining. Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon have left. Bruno Guimaraes looks set to follow with a move to Arsenal seemingly close.

So, all things considered, Hall might very well be the best player Newcastle United have on their books. But for how much longer? That is the big question right now.
Manchester United seem to be keen on signing Hall and have been for a little while now. It remains to be seen if they end up making a serious push or not.

Hall’s former club, Chelsea, could have their say on the matter as well. They have said goodbye to Marc Cucurella in this window as the Spanish World Cup winner has joined Real Madrid, a controversial move for a La Masia graduate.

On the other hand, Chelsea could look to replace Cucurella with a Cobham graduate in Hall. They have been linked with Pep Chavarria for a while but that deal does not seem to have advanced, with Rayo Vallecano seemingly looking for more than what the Blues are willing to pay for a 28-year-old left-back.
