Michael Owen Slams Penalty Decision in England vs DR Congo

Michael Owen hit out at the decision not to award a penalty to England in their Round of 32 clash against DR Congo. Congolese goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi looked to have brought Harry Kane down in the box, but referee Adham Makhadmeh felt the Three Lions skipper dived.
Kane looked shocked as DR Congo asked for the Bayern Munich striker to be booked. Thomas Tuchel’s men were 1-0 down at half-time following Brian Cipenga’s opener.
Owen made his feelings clear over Kane not being awarded a spot-kick, writing on X:
“What chance have you got? If that’s not a penalty on Kane I don’t know what is. Absolute disgrace.”
Kane also had an effort cleared off the line during a pulsating first half at Atlanta Stadium. Tuchel’s men were frustrated by the African nation competing in their first knockout game.
