Newcastle star called “LIABILITY” after “Awful” display vs Bournemouth -Fans have slammed him

Newcastle United defender Malick Thiaw was targeted by furious supporters after an “awful” display during the Magpies’ dramatic 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at St. James’ Park.

Despite Newcastle rescuing a late point thanks to Jacob Ramsey’s 88th-minute equalizer, fans immediately singled out Thiaw as the prime culprit for the side’s defensive struggles. The centre-back endured a nightmare first half, capped off in the 35th minute when he inadvertently turned Justin Kluivert’s rebounded strike into his own net. That disastrous moment handed Bournemouth a two-goal cushion and left Newcastle chasing the game on home soil.Thiaw appeared visibly off the pace throughout his stint on the pitch. He struggled to contain Bournemouth’s quick counter-attacks, lost key aerial duels, and consistently invited pressure with misplaced passes from the back. Beyond the own goal, his positional lapse earlier in the match left Newcastle’s backline completely exposed, allowing Marcus Tavernier to stab home the Cherries’ opening goal.

Following the final whistle, Newcastle faithful took to social media to vent their frustration over the German defender’s performance: “Malick Thiaw is an absolute liability in our defense right now. He looked totally lost out there today.” “We can’t keep defending like this if we want to compete at the top level. Thiaw needs to be benched.”While head coach Matthias Jaissle managed to preserve his unbeaten start to the season, the pressure is already mounting on Thiaw. Supporters are calling for Fabian Schär to be reinstated into the starting lineup for Newcastle’s next Premier League outing to restore order to a shaky backline.
