Roy Keane Raves About Aston Villa Hero After Outshining Man City at Villa Park

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane was full of praise for Aston Villa striker Nicolas Jackson following his sensational performance in Villa’s 2–1 victory over Manchester City at Villa Park.

The Senegalese forward produced a masterclass upfront, scoring a decisive brace that tormented Pep Guardiola’s defense and secured three crucial Premier League points for Unai Emery’s side.

Keane’s High Praise for Jackson’s Monster Display
Speaking on post-match duty, Roy Keane — rarely known for giving out easy compliments — lauded Jackson’s aggressive press, tactical intelligence, and ruthless instinct in front of goal.
”When you play against a team like Manchester City, your striker cannot just sit up front and wait for the ball. You have to run the channels, hold off center-backs, and take every half-chance that comes your way.

Today, Nicolas Jackson gave a complete, monstrous performance. He led the line like a proper center-forward — physical, sharp, and totally unfazed.”
Keane highlighted how Jackson kept City’s defensive line under constant pressure throughout his 82-minute display, forcing errors and creating transitions for Villa’s midfield.

Match Summary: Aston Villa 2–1 Manchester City
Jackson set the tone early at Villa Park, putting the hosts ahead just six minutes into the match. Manchester City responded in the second half through Erling Haaland, who leveled the score in the 52nd minute. However, Jackson restored Villa’s lead in the 60th minute with his second strike of the afternoon, capping off a clinical team display.
