Muharemovic delivers a masterclass display as Leeds beat Toons

Leeds United beat Newcastle United 4-0 at Elland Road to climb up to third place in the Premier League table tonight.

The Whites pressurised their opponents from the outset and ran out comfortable winners.

Ao Tanaka’s shot took a double deflection before entering the net to give them the lead.

Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed the ball onto Jayden Bogle, and it beat Lukas Hornicek to double the advantage.

Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor scored to make it 4-0. Leeds had wrapped up the game by half-time with their attacking play.

They were equally stellar in the rearguard and defender Tarik Muharemovic played a key role in that resolute unit.

Muharemovic couldn’t help his side register a clean sheet but was instrumental in putting out fires across the pitch.

The Bosnian was hailed as a ‘beast‘ for a top challenge that stopped a certain goal.

The Leeds defender was imperious once again, winning six our of ten duels and making eight clearances. He made 11 defensive contributions and recorded one assist.

The performance was another reminder of why Muharemovic has quickly emerged as one of Premier League signings of the summer.

His composure under pressure and strength in duels have given Farke’s side a new level of security at the back.

Muharemovic does not appear fazed by the demands of English football and has shown a maturity beyond his years since arriving at Elland Road.

His emergence is particularly significant after Pascal Struijk’s departure. He looks more than capable of filling the void and could prove to be a terrific replacement.
