Newcastle United are active in the transfer market and want to sign a replacement for Bruno Guimaraes.

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller this summer.

A hectic period for the Magpies has seen a managerial change and several high-profile players leave. Bruno Guimaraes – due back in training today – could also depart amid interest from Arsenal.
In Matthias Jaissle, Nick Woltemade and Malick Thiaw, Newcastle have begun a German revolution on Tyneside. Stiller – who has nine international caps – would be the fourth arrival in 11 months.

Newcastle United want Angelo Stiller
Various sources claim Newcastle have shortlisted Stiller as a potential Guimaraes replacement. While left-footed, he has a similar profile to the Toon skipper as a deep-lying playmaker.

He had a release clause in his contract worth £30million that expired earlier this month. The Magpies could begin negotiations with this figure as a starting point.

Newcastle want an experienced midfielder in the engine room to support the likes of Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba. Joe Willock – now in the final year of his contract – could be moved on.

As for Guimaraes, he is expected to return to the club’s pre-season training setup in Spain today. Time will tell whether the Brazilian will report for duty – or follow Alexander Isak’s path from 12 months ago.
Arsenal are yet to submit a formal offer, with the saga playing out via intermediaries. NewcastleWorld has consistently reported that a bid worth around £85million would likely see movement.
